Just a few more days to go...

If you're checking out this blog you know that Bill and I will be heading to Europe for a few months to do a little road tripping through most of the western countries. We're leaving in less than a week, so needless to say we're a little stressed out, but every now and then I think about what we're in for in the upcoming weeks and I want to pinch myself.

So, because it makes me giddy to rehash our plans, I'll lay them out here so you can all have an idea of our general whereabouts:

We'll fly into London and stay for a few days with Lisa Hasebe, one of my best friends since about 2nd grade. From there we'll take a ferry to Amsterdam, where we'll meet up with Ryan Louie, a good friend of Bill's from Radio City. At the end of our week there Ryan will head back to the states and we'll pick up a car we're leasing and make our way north east to Berlin. We'll make our way south through Prague in the Czeck Republic, down to some cities in Germany including Munich. We'll keep heading south through Austria to Venice, Italy, and some time in June we hope to make it about halfway down the east side of the country, at which point will cross over to the Amalfi Coast. That's the furthest south we'll be on our trip, and we'll basically follow the Mediterranean coastline for the next leg. On our way up to the south of France we'll first stop in Rome, Florence, and Cinque Terre, and then on to Monaco. We'll drive across the southern coast of France and make our way to Barcelona, and then cross the country going north, with a few days in Madrid, San Sebastian, and finally Pamplona for the running of the bulls. We'll spend a few days in the French countryside, Burgundy and few other spots off the beaten path, and we'll eventually end up in Paris, where we'll drop off our car. We fly out of London, but not before we get to enjoy Paris.

So that's it. We've only made reservations in the first couple cities, and we'll wing it from there, so we're not really sure when we'll be reaching the various destinations. I'm a little bit of a control freak so this is a little unsettling, but Bill keeps reassuring me that it'll work out fine.

Anyway, we'll try and keep you updated with our latest location, and Bill hopes to write a column(?) for the blog, so feel free to check back in to see what we're up to.
